Meth suspect with outstanding warrants arrested
CHASSELL — The Upper Peninsula Substance Enforcement Team assisted the Houghton County Sheriff’s Department yesterday after a meth lab was located at a residence in Chassell.
Authorities located a female at the residence who was on probation and had outstanding warrants, as well as a 4 year-old child. After searching the residence, officers located components used to manufacture meth. UPSET seized solvent, lithium, lye and sulfuric acid as well as several meth “one pots.”
The suspect was arrested and is lodged at the Houghton County Jail on outstanding fugitive warrants. Additional charges are expected.
The child was turned over to Child Protective Services.
The Michigan Department of Corrections and the Chassell Fire Department assisted on the scene.
