U-Haul truck catches fire at Days Inn
MARQUETTE — The Marquette County Sheriff’s Department was dispatched to a report of an unoccupied vehicle fire in the parking lot of the Days Inn in Marquette Township Wednesday at 7:15 p.m. The officers arrived on the scene to see the storage section of a 2017 U-Haul moving truck became fully engulfed in flames.
The truck was full of household contents belonging to a family who was in the process of moving from Iron River to the state of Ohio. The truck and all the contents inside were destroyed in the fire.
No one was injured. The cause of the fire is unknown.
The Marquette Township Fire Department and the Michigan State Police assisted on the scene.
