Jo-Kay to hold final “Experience the Farm” of year
NEGAUNEE — Contrary to popular belief, the fall season is one of the best times to spend outside. Jo-Kay Corral is the best place to spend part of your Saturday.
The final “Experience the Farm” event will be held this weekend. Adults and children are invited to come out and interact with farm animals. There will be cows, ponies, goats, pigs, and hayrides.
“That’s a lot of fun too for the kids, for the families. That’s all included in the admission price, which is $8 a person, and 18 months and under are free,” said owner Jodi McIlhany.
The Jo-Kay corral has been in operation for a little over a year. They want people to learn about and enjoy the presence of animals.
“I love it. I enjoy the animals; I grew up with farm animals, that part I enjoy, but my favorite part of the business is meeting people from the community and watching kids for the first time, like, milk the goat or be on a horse for the first time, their expressions and their excitement, I just love that part of it,” said McIlhany.
The event will go from 10:00 a.m. to noon. Pumpkins and donuts will be available to purchase.
