Embezzlement case set for trial

MARQUETTE — A jury trial has been scheduled for a Marquette man charged with embezzling funds from a local hockey team.

Brice Burge, 29, stands accused of embezzlement and the illegal use of a financial transaction device. He was arrested by the Marquette Police Department in late March.

Burge served as the general manager of the Marquette Mutineers for their inaugural season until he was fired by the team earlier this year. He stands accused of these crimes in relation to his job with the team.

A four-day jury trial has been scheduled to start December 5th in Marquette County Circuit Court.
