UPDATE: Bank robbery suspect being held in Wisconsin

UPDATE — Tuesday, August 29th, 2017 10:10 a.m.

ABC 10 has learned more about Friday’s armed robbery at mBank in Stephenson.

Michigan State Police Detective Sergeant Jeremy Hauswirth tells ABC 10 the bank robbery suspect will be brought up on federal charges. The suspect, who has not been charged and/or arraigned at this time, is being held in Milwaukee, Wisc.

The robbery occurred around 11:00 a.m. CST Friday and the suspect was arrested in Marinette, Wisc. approximately 13 hours later.

The suspect got away from the bank with $2,000. All but $7 was recovered.

Hauswirth says the effort to arrest the suspect was ‘coordinated very well’ between police agencies in Michigan and Wisconsin.


STEPHENSON — Police have arrested a man they say robbed mBank in Stephenson Friday morning.

Troopers from the Michigan State Police Gladstone Post were dispatched to the bank for an armed robbery around 11:00 am CT. Through their investigation, police identified a suspect.

Investigators arrested a suspect around midnight in Marinette, Wisc. The suspect’s identity won’t be released until they’re arraigned.

The FBI is assisting with the investigation.
