Multiple departments respond to structure fire

ISHPEMING — Multiple departments responded to a structure fire in the city of Ishpeming on Sunday afternoon. The call came in at around 3 p.m. to a building on the corner of First Street and High Street.

Crews from Ishpeming, Negaunee and Marquette responded to put out the fire, which looked to have began in the rear top floor of the building. Multiple eyewitnesses say that the building has been abandoned for the past few years.

Officials say no one was inside the building at the time the fire happened. The cause of the fire is still unknown. Also on the scene was Marquette County Rescue 131. We will have more details as soon as they become available.
