UPDATE: Two arrested after high speed chase reveals drug use

The names of those arrested in Monday’s high speed chase have been released.
The Marquette County Sheriff’s Department confirmed the arrests of 22 year-old Cassie Croschere and 31-year old Joseph Dupras. The two were arrested after deputies were dispatched to the 1000 Block of School Street for a drug overdose of an 18-year old Marquette woman.
The two are awaiting arraignment in Marquette County District Court. We will keep you updated with more information as it is released.
UPDATE — Tuesday, August 9, 2016 10 a.m. EDT
More information has been released in the high speed chase from yesterday afternoon.
Deputies from the Marquette County Sheriff’s Office say they were dispatched to the 1000 block of School Street in Ishpeming Township for an unresponsive female lying in the yard caused by a drug overdose.
A male was also found in a drug induced state during the investigation. Both people were transported to Bell Hospital.
Deputies had received information prior to their arrival about a third female who had fled from the residence into the woods. The subject was picked up in a 2001 Oldsmobile Alero.
Deputies located the vehicle and attempted to to make a traffic stop. The vehicle failed to stop and lead deputies on a high speed chase through North Lake onto Westwood Drive.
The driver lost control of the vehicle and stopped on the shoulder of the road. The driver then fled on foot into the woods and was apprehended shortly after. She was transported to U.P. Health System – Marquette. The passenger of the vehicle was treated on scene.
A search warrant was executed at the residence with the help of the Michigan State Police K-9 drug dog. Evidence of drug paraphernalia and drug use were revealed.
The female driver was found to have multiple warrants and has additional charges pending from the investigation. The male subject was arrested on a parole detainer.
The incident remains under investigation.
ISHPEMING TOWNSHIP — One woman was taken to the hospital after she fled from police Monday afternoon.
Just after 2:00 p.m., emergency responders were dispatched to North Westwood Drive, about a half–mile north of US–41 in Ishpeming Township.
A deputy with the Marquette County Sheriff’s Office tells ABC 10 that the driver of a gray sedan fled from police when they tried to pull her over.
The driver eventually lost control of the vehicle and was then apprehended by police. She was taken to the hospital with unknown injuries.
No other injuries have been reported. We will pass along more information as it becomes available.
