Chorus group donates money to local elementary school
NEGAUNEE — A chorus group in Marquette County is helping a local elementary school with music education. Da Upper Yooper Barbershop Chorus has donated a check to Lakeview Elementary School in Negaunee. The check was given to the children after their help with a previous choral show.
“Well as a form music teacher, it feels really good to give back. Said by Chorus Director, Pete Stephens–Brown, “I’ve been in Mrs. Fitzpatrick’s situation where a program just needs more help financially and were lucky to be in a position where we can give it.”
Lakeview Elementary is thankful for the donation and said it will be extremely useful. The elementary school students were also excited to receive the donation and be able to help with future choir classes.
“It’s going to be a good help for the chorus” Said fourth grader Bryce Bell.
The Barbershop Chorus is now getting ready for their next show, which will be in the middle of June.
