MARQUETTE — The Holidays are a season of giving, and Friday night, one local organization was hoping you’d donate to their cause.

Friday was the annual Noquemanon Snowball. The event supports all of the Noquemanon Trail Network’s trail systems, including hiking, biking and skiing trails. Guests raised money by participating in silent auctions and bucket raffles. But, they also took time to simply celebrate the season.

“Oh [it’s] definitely a party. Probably my favorite holiday party of the year. Cocktails and dancing and the silent auction and bucket raffles are a nice way to find Christmas gifts or stocking stuffers that you might still need,” said Kim Doppelt, a Noquemanon Trail Network board member, “We get a lot of people who, obviously, support the trail systems and are into outdoorsy things and UP related things. So, we get a good crowd.”

The ball was open to the public. Guests had the chance to win anything from artwork to hotel stays to sports packages.
