Suspect pleads guilty to delivery of heroin
MARQUETTE — A man arrested last month by the Upper Peninsula Substance Enforcement Team entered a plea in Marquette County Circuit Court Friday morning.
Thirty-three-year old Maurice Gray of South Bend, Indiana, pleaded guilty to the charge of delivery of less than fifty grams of heroin. That charge carries a penalty of up to twenty years in prison.
As part of the plea agreement, other charges against Gray will be dropped, and he will not be charged as a habitual offender. Gray was arrested along with 25-year-old Jennifer Savanguongsavanh during an UPSET investigation in Ishpeming. Savanguongsavanh pleaded guilty to the charge of possession with intent to deliver the schedule three narcotic dihydrocodeinone last week.
Gray will be sentenced December 11th.
