Man crashes car into gas station
HANCOCK — A teenager is in trouble with the law after he allegedly drove a car into a gas station, causing a fire.
Just before midnight Saturday, the Hancock Police were dispatched to the Holiday Gas Station on Hancock Street. According to police, a Honda Civic entered the gas station and struck a parked Ford F-150. The car then struck the center gas pumps, igniting a fire.
Police officers were able to put out the flames with fire extinguishers that were in their patrol cars. Damage was limited to the gas pumps. No one was injured.
The man behind the wheel of the Honda Civic is said to be an 18-year-old man from Baldwin Park, Mich. He was arrested for OWI.
According to ABC 10 Keweenaw Bureau Reporter Rick Allen, the teenager will be arraigned in Houghton County District Court on Wednesday.
