UPDATE: Girl injured at high school gym dies
UPDATE — 9:55 a.m. September 4th, 2015 (EDT)
The young girl injured after a safety partition fell on her at Gwinn High School Thursday morning has passed away.
Forsyth Township Police say they were notified at 6:15 a.m. Friday morning that 4-year-old Amarah Filizetti had died from her injuries. Investigation into the accident continues.
Police say Amarah’s family is asking for privacy at this time.
GWINN — A young girl was rushed to the hospital this morning after an accident at a local school.
The Forsyth Township Police Department was dispatched to Gwinn High School a little after 10 a.m. A four–year–old girl suffered a serious injury when a safety partition fell on her. She was reportedly unconscious when emergency personnel arrived. The high school gym was having the safety partition installed at the time of the accident.
She transported to U.P.–Health System Marquette. The incident is under investigation at the time. There’s no word yet on the little girl’s condition.
