Vintage footage of U.P. ore docks

Footage restored by Jack Deo of Superior View Photography, originally captured by the Delft Theatre

This is vintage Delft Theatre footage of the ore docks in Marquette and Escanaba Michigan. The pocket dock was first used in Marquette in 1857 and is still the method used today.

The Delft made movies from 1916 -1949 on life in the Upper Peninsula. Jack Deo of Superior View Photography transferred old nitrite films on to safety film in the 1980s. His collection has many hours of vintage movie footage.
