Vehicle pursuit ends with suspect being tased by police
CHOCOLAY TOWNSHIP — An investigation into a stolen vehicle turned into a vehicle pursuit today in Chocolay Township.
Just after 8am, the Chocolay Police Department responded to a residence on M–28, where a 2002 red Jeep Grand Cherokee had been taken without permission. Shortly before 11am, police spotted the vehicle on Division St. and attempted to stop it.
The man driving the Jeep did not speed up, but he refused to pull over. Officers were able to block the suspect’s vehicle.
The suspect refused to exit the Jeep. He was then tased and taken into custody.
The man’s name will not be released until he’s arraigned in Marquette County District Court.
