Sentence handed down for home invasion suspect

HOUGHTON — A woman accused of two counts of home invasion was sentenced Wednesday morning in Houghton County Circuit Court.

Amelia Emery, 25, of Houghton was ordered to serve a minimum of 23 months and a maximum of 15 years in jail as part of her plea agreement. She was originally charged with two counts of first-degree home invasion for two separate incidents that occurred in Houghton and Hancock.

Emery must pay $68 in state costs and a crime victims assessment of $130. She must also pay $410 in restitution to the victim. She will be credited for 79 days already served.
