HARVEY –Three people were taken to the hospital after two vehicles collided on U.S. 41 in Chocolay Township Thursday morning.
The accident happened just after 11 a.m. at the intersection of the highway and Silver Creek Road.
Early reports indicate the accident involved a black Ford F-150 and a white Subaru Forrester. Both vehicles suffered head-on damage. Traffic was reduced to one lane on U.S. 41 heading westbound.
Chocolay Township Police Chief Greg Zyburt said it appears the Ford truck was traveling southbound on U.S. 41 and the Subaru was driving eastbound on Silver Creek Road, attempting to cross the highway. Zyburt said one of the vehicles may have run a red light.
He said more information will be released at a later time.
