Police release names of two Ironwood drug bust suspects
IRONWOOD — The Gogebic Iron Area Narcotics Team, or GIANT, has released the names of two of the people arrested in a drug bust in Ironwood on Tuesday.
They are Donald Jett, 47, shown on the left in the image seen here; and James Schaus, 36, on the right; both of Ironwood.
They’re each charged with two counts of delivery or manufacture of less than 50 grams of heroin and two counts of delivery or possession of a controlled substance in a park, within a thousand feet. Those counts are all felonies.
Jett is also accused of maintaining a drug house, which is a misdemeanor. He’s in the Gogebic County Jail on $300,000 bond. Schaus is jailed on $200,000 bond. Both men were arraigned today in Gogebic County District Court.
The drug bust happened at about 8 a.m. Central time yesterday at 251 East Oak Street in Ironwood. GIANT says officers found heroin, methamphetamine and other controlled substances.
Three other suspects were also arrested. GIANT says a 21-year-old Ashland, Wisconsin woman is charged with two drug-related misdemeanors. The other two suspects are charged with probation violations. None of the three have been arraigned yet.
Police say that the investigation is still in progress and that there will probably be more arrests.
