Man laughs off fall into Marquette’s Lower Harbor after being rescued
Luckily there was someone calm, cool, and collected in Marquette’s Lower Harbor earlier today. There was a bit of scare, as a man fell into the lake while trying to test out the ice off the shoreline.
Marquette Police and Fire officials responded to the scene around 1:30 p.m., but fortunately the first mate on the Marquette Harbor Tours was quick to act. He was reportedly alerted of the fall just after it happened, and threw a lifesaver out to the man in seconds time. The man did not seek any medical attention, and was seen smiling and laughing afterward.
He said he had just woken up and wanted to see how sturdy the ice was first hand.
