Regional Police Officers receive life-saving techniques
Four days of regional police officers training is winding down. They spent most of today learning Hazmat, AED and CPR techniques.
Officers are trained to be prepared for anything. Today, they learned vital life saving techniques. As first responders, they sometimes arrive on scene prior to EMS personnel.
In turn, they have to know basic life saving procedures to help save a life and keep the victim breathing until reinforcements arrive. Unlike some of the other courses taught this week, this was a pass fail class and of course, failing was not an option. Fortunately, all of the officers blew threw the class with flying colors.
Adult and child procedures were covered during the program. Officers will finish up their training tomorrow. Afterward, they’ll take all they’ve learned and share it with other officers in their department who were unable to attend the advanced week of training.
