Police looking for high-speed chase suspect
The Houghton Police Department is asking the public for help in finding a high-speed chase suspect.
Police say Travis Kuopus, 26, was involved in a domestic situation at Walmart in Houghton around 6:30 Friday night.
They say he fled the scene after hitting a vehicle in the parking lot.
Kuopus led police on a high-speed chase through Houghton and Hancock, on to M-26, and through Dollar Bay with speeds reaching over 90 mph. Police stopped the chase for the safety of the public.
Kuopus is driving a black 1999 Chevrolet 1500 extended cab pick-up truck with a Michigan license plate: BBV 4060. He is described as 5’6″ tall and 160 lbs. with black hair and brown eyes.
