Mackinac County residents arrested as part of drug investigation

MACKINAC COUNTY — Two Mackinac County residents were arrested as a result of an ongoing drug investigation.

At 11:50 p.m. Tuesday, TriDENT officers, Mackinac County Sheriff’s Deputies and St. Ignace Police Officers stopped a vehicle at the Mackinac Bridge Toll plaza as a result of the investigation. Narcotics were found in the vehicle upon execution of a search warrant.

Two Mackinac County residents were arrested on several narcotic offenses and both were arraigned Thursday in 92nd District Court.

Thirty-four year-old Christopher Michael Dietrich and 37 year-old Kris Marie Tamlyn, both of Moran, Michigan, were charged with delivery or manufacture of a narcotic, possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana. Dietrich was also arraigned on a habitual offender charge.

The two suspects are lodged at the Mackinac County Jail. Dietrich is lodged on a $250,000 bond and Tamlyn’s bond is set at $25,000.

Sault Tribe Police, the St. Ignace Police Department, the Chippewa County Sheriff’s Office and the Mackinac County Sheriff’s Office assisted TriDENT in the investigation. The investigation is ongoing.
