Two arrested for possession of heroin and crystal meth

ATLANTIC MINE — Two people are in jail after drugs were uncovered at two homes in the Copper Country.

Detectives from the Upper Peninsula Substance Enforcement Team say they executed a search warrant at the adjacent Atlantic Mine residences on Monday. Detectives seized heroin and crystal meth during the search, and both suspects were arrested for possession of those drugs.

They were lodged at the Houghton County Jail, and their names are being withheld pending arraignment. The investigation remains ongoing.

UPSET was assisted by the Houghton County Sheriff’s Department, Michigan Tech Public Safety, troopers from the Michigan State Police Calumet Post, the K-9 unit from the Gladstone Post, and the Marquette County Sheriff’s Department.
