Meth suspects arrested after high-speed chase
MARQUETTE — Three people were arrested on meth charges after a high-speed chase early Saturday morning.
Marquette City Police say 20-year-old Jack Pelto, 21-year-old Bobbie Joe Weymouth, and 31-year-old Nathan Knotek were arrested after the pursuit that began around 2:00 a.m. The chase started at the area of McClellan Avenue and the US-41 bypass and concluded on M-553 and M-94 with assistance from the Michigan State Police.
Police say an active meth cook was discovered in the vehicle after contact was made with the occupants. All three were arrested for maintaining a meth lab. Pelto — the driver — was also arrested on a fleeing and eluding charge, and Weymouth had an outstanding felony warrant with the Marquette Police Department for armed robbery.
No injuries were reported in the incident. Michigan State Police, the Marquette County Sheriff’s Department, Chocolay Township Police Department, Forsyth Township Police Department, and the Upper Peninsula Substance Enforcement Team assisted with the situation.
