“Dancing with the Stars Marquette County Style” dancers revealed
MARQUETTE — “Dancing with the stars Marquette County Style” announces its 2015 line–up.
Eight couples were introduced tonight and are set to perform on Thursday, May 12 at the Forest Roberts Theater. Although the event is for charity, couples didn’t immediately throw on their dancing shoes.
“The first initial thought when they asked us was absolutely not, thank you very much and enjoy the rest of your day. Yes, we are really busy but when we found out what it was for, for Hospice, we looked at each other and we knew we were going to do it. Mike’s mother just entered Hospice in December and the program is just so amazing and they have helped our family out so much, we immediately knew we had to do that,” said Mike and Sonia Stucko, Stucko’s Pub & Grill.
The event while filled with local stars, drama, glamor and glitz, it is still all about the kids and making their dreams and long anticipated wishes come true.
There is certainly a lot of pomp and circumstance, fun and glitter but honestly what is most meaningful to me is the metaphor of these dancing couples going through a journey for three months and how it is similar to the families of hospice over the few months. How they start something they don’t have the skill set for and through a circle of experts around them, they take it on and they can thrive,” said Jeff Nyquist, Executive Director, U.P. Home Health & Hospice.
Tickets go on sale Monday March 9 and can be only purchased by calling 906 225 4545. The event sold out last year and is expected to do the same this year.
The 2015 dancers are:
- Billy & Ashley Hill
