Wisconsin man rescued from Lake Superior
A Wisconsin man was rescued on Monday after spending four days on Lake Superior.
The 35-year-old got caught in a current while swimming in Keweenaw County.
He ended up about 15 miles from his original location, police said. The man was spotted by kayakers who reported his location.
First responders took him from High Rock Point to Horseshoe Harbor, where an ambulance was waiting.
“He was in pretty rough medical shape, so the first responders were able to transport him to an ambulance,” said Keweenaw County Sheriff Curt Pennala.
He was treated for his injuries at UP Health Systems, Marquette.
His current condition is unknown.
