Escanaba man arraigned on methamphetamine charges

More than 30 grams of methamphetamine were found in Escanaba yesterday.

Jimmy Pethers, 41, of Escanaba was arrested on 4 charges: possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine, maintaining a drug house, and receiving and concealing a stolen firearm

At the house, the Upper Peninsula Substance Enforcement Team, or UPSET, found 34 grams of what is suspected to be crystal methamphetamine. They also found a small amount of suspected heroin, a digital scale, $3,662, and a loaded handgun previously reported as stolen.

Pethers was arraigned yesterday and is being held at the Delta County Jail. His bond is set at $170,000 cash.

MSP HST, the Delta County Sheriff’s Department, and Escanaba Public Safety assisted UPSET at the scene.
