Covid-19 Delta Variant Detected In Marquette County
MARQUETTE, Mich – The Covid–19 Delta Variant has been detected in Marquette County.
The Marquette County Health Department confirmed the Delta Variant’s presence today in a Marquette County resident.
The Delta Variant is more contagious but not more severe than other Covid–19 variants.
Those that are fully vaccinated are protected from serious illness and death.
People that are immunocompromised as well as the elderly have an increased risk of catching the strain.
The MCHD strongly recommends if you were exposed to Covid–19 or are suffering from a mild illness to get tested and quarantine.
You should notify contacts if you’ve been exposed to help prevent a resurgence in cases.
