Annual blues festival returns to Marquette
This year, Labor Day Weekend in Marquette means the return of the Blues Festival.
The Marquette Area Blues Society (MABS) is hosting the annual blues fest at Mattson Lower Harbor Park from September 3rd through the 5th.
After last year’s cancellation, the society is excited to host the event again.
“To have these festivals coming back into the community is a wonderful thing,” said MABS President Mark Hamari. “I think the spirit is going to be different this year because I think people are just ready to bust loose and have some fun.”
The festival will open on Friday night with a free “Welcome Back to the Blues” concert. This will serve as a thank you to the community for their support and patience during the pandemic.
The entire event is run by volunteers.
