Vaccine lottery already a hit
Michiganders statewide are taking their shot to win big.
After the MI Shot to Win Sweepstakes was announced yesterday, more than 500,000 vaccinated Michigan residents have entered.
The lottery offers a chance to win more than 5 million dollars in cash, in addition to almost 500,000 in combined college scholarships.
Lottery–style raffles to incentivize vaccines are increasing in popularity around the nation, with the first coming from Ohio and republican Governor Mike DeWine.
Governor Gretchen Whitmer said, “If there’s one thing every Michigander can agree on, it’s what Ohio can do, Michigan can do it bigger and better.”
The lottery ends on August 3rd.
