Flood relief available to low-income residents

Aid may be available for low–income residents who have been victim to recent flooding in Michigan.

The State Emergency Relief program, part of the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services, provides immediate relief to those in emergencies which threaten their safety.

To qualify for these funds, applicants must be home–owners or purchasers and fall under certain income limits.

Due to recent flooding, the governor has issued a state of emergency in Wayne County, with flood warnings in Kent and Clinton Counties extending until Thursday.
