Flag Day is today. And it is a historic holiday. But it has just as much meaning and significance in the present, too…

The flags are not only flown in ceremonial numbers on Flag Day,

But also on: Memorial Day, 4th of July, 9/11, and Veterans’ Day.

A person walking thru the Harlow Park said “Flag Day always has a tangible feeling of the past and present.”

Tom Rica also touched on another facet of Flag Day. The American Legion Posts are the keepers of torn or tattered flags. Meaning that if you have a flag you want to replace you can drop your tattered one off at any Post; anytime.

They then can burn them in an honorably traditional style only on Flag Day.
