Crash On Mackinac Bridge Results In One Death
ST. IGNACE, Mich – A 78–year–old Cheboygan man was killed in a crash on the Mackinac Bridge Saturday morning.
Michigan State Police Troopers say the driver of the motorcycle was traveling northbound on the bridge when he crossed the center lane divider and struck an oncoming pick up truck.
The motorcyclist died at the scene.
The driver of the pick–up was a 39–year–old Newberry resident.
He and the other occupants of the vehicle suffered minor injuries and were treated at the scene.
The crash remains under investigation.
Alcohol and speed are not believed to be factors in the crash.
MSP was assisted by five agencies on scene.
