Meet the newest Ishpeming City Mayor

ISHPEMING, Mich. (WLNS) – With more than 2,500 votes cast for the Ishpeming City Mayor. Mayor-Elect Lindsay Bean won the election by just 23 votes.

A familiar face for the city of Ishpeming, Bean was on City Council for two years before.

As she adjusts to her new role, some of the major challenges moving forward include balancing the budget and finding ways to meet the increasing demands on the money coming in as well as finding ways to generate revenue to establish a long-term plan to address the cities future needs. This vision includes business development.

Additionally, Mayor-Elect Bean wants to address the high utility costs for businesses and residents in the community.

The Mayor-Elect was also enthusiastic about the amount of candidates that the city had for city council because residents participating is what makes communities stronger.

Lindsay Bean is scheduled to officially take over as mayor on Wednesday, December 9th, 2020.
