Two men arrested in connection with stolen truck

MARINETTE COUNTY — Two men were arrested on July 21 in connection with a stolen pickup truck.

On the evening of July 20, the Florence County sheriff put out information to be on the lookout for the stolen truck. The truck had fled authorities in Dickinson County, Michigan and Florence County, Wisconsin.

On July 21 around 11:00 a.m., a Marinette County deputy spotted the vehicle southbound on US-141 in Beecher. The vehicle was occupied by two young males matching the description given by Florence County.

Officers attempted to stop the vehicle south of Wausaukee. The vehicle fled southbound at a high speed. Two attempts with tire deflation devices were unsuccessful.

The pursuit continued southbound to Beaver, where the fleeing truck moved into the northbound lanes, went off the road, turned around, and continued back northbound. The pursuit then went to the middle inlet area south of Wausaukee, where a third tire deflation attempt was successful. Both suspects were arrested without incident and later turned over to Florence County Sheriff’s officers.

The driver was 22-year-old Tyler Jon Dollar of Portage, Wisconsin. The passenger was 26-year-old Chandler Lee Pavlet of Iron Mountain, Michigan, who had multiple warrants for his arrest. Both men will be referred for charging consideration to the prosecutor and district attorney in Dickinson and Florence.

The incident remains under investigation by authorities in Marinette, Florence, and Dickinson counties.
