Man arrested on charges of aggravated felonious assault in Calumet

CALUMET –The Michigan State Police are investigating a Monday stabbing incident in the Village of Calumet.

According to the MSP Calumet Post, troopers were dispatched to a stabbing around 5:59 p.m. Monday. When the troopers responded, they spoke with a 36-year-old woman who reported she had been stabbed by an unknown individual.

The woman was transported by Mercy Ambulance to Aspirus Kewenaw Hospital to be treated for non-life threatening injuries. After further investigation, troopers say they developed a suspect–a 41-year-old man who was in a domestic relationship with the victim.

The man was arrested on charges of aggravated felonious assault charges. The suspect’s name will be released after being arraigned.
