Embers Credit Union opens new branch in Gwinn
GWINN — An Upper Peninsula credit union opened up a new branch in Gwinn.
Embers Credit Union’s new location officially opened for business at 3:00 Tuesday afternoon.
Embers Credit Union offers full–service banking to customers all across the Upper Peninsula. Employees at the new branch are excited to offer their services to the community in Gwinn.
“Embers identified a customer base in Gwinn, and thought it would be best to serve our members here,” said branch manager Laurie Wills. “We’re just really excited to be here and offer our members full service banking. We offer mortgages, loans, checking, savings, our online banking is amazing as well.”
Embers Credit Union already had a large customer base in Gwinn. Embers Credit Union CEO Tom Blake says this new branch is a great opportunity to better serve their members in the area, allowing them easier access to the credit union.
“We’re so excited to be in Gwinn,” said Embers Credit Union CEO Tom Blake. “We’ve talked about coming to this community for several years. So with Huntington closing its branch and putting it up for sale, it gave us a perfect opportunity. We already had about 900 members in this community and over the years we’ve had several of them ask us to put a branch in Gwinn. And it’s something we considered for quite a long time and we knew that we’d be well–received.”
The new Gwinn branch of Embers Credit Union hopes this new location will be a great resource for their members in the surrounding area, and they hope to reach even more of the community in the coming years.
