L’ANSE — A 37-year-old L’Anse woman was arrested by the Michigan State Police Calumet Post on December 26th on a Homicide-Felony Murder warrant authorized by the Baraga County Prosecuting Attorney.

The warrant authorization and arrest occurred on the one-year anniversary of the death of 2-year-old Walker Meyers, also of L’Anse.

On December 23, 2017, an unresponsive Meyers was first brought to the Baraga County Memorial Hospital Emergency Room by his caregiver. He was immediately flown by Med-Flight to the Milwaukee Children’s Hospital in Wisconsin where he died of his inflicted injuries.

Medical experts determined his manner of death was homicide.

The woman’s name is not being released until after arraignment, which is scheduled for December 28th, in the Baraga County District Court.
