Abandoned Meth Lab discovered near Baltic
ADAMS TOWNSHIP — On Wednesday, August 8, 2018, the Houghton County Sheriff Department was called to the scene of an abandoned meth lab near Baltic.
The abandoned lab was located by workers in the area who were cutting trees along the power lines.
Authorities say the lab was located within the confines of a concrete tunnel near the old Stella Cheesecake Factory between Baltic and Brooklyn Location in Adams Township.
Sheriff Department officials arrived on scene and confirmed it was indeed a meth lab. The scene was littered with components to produce meth and appeared to be an active site within the last few months. Detectives from the Upper Peninsula Substance Enforcement Team (UPSET) were called to the scene to verify the lab and for clean up assistance.
No arrests have been made and there are no suspects at this time.
Anyone with information is asked to call 911 or the Sheriff Department directly at 906-482-0055.
