US-41 resurfacing project in Marquette County to begin May 29th

MARQUETTE COUNTY — The US-41 resurfacing project in Marquette County is set to begin Tuesday, May 29th.

The Michigan Department of Transportation is investing $330,000 to resurface about 3.5 miles of US-41 from the Marquette/Alger county line north to Marquette County Road 456. This project will result in a smoother driving surface and increased safety, and will extend the lifespan of the roadway.

Work includes crack filling, gravel shoulders, resurfacing and pavement markings. Crack filling will start May 29th, with resurfacing work to start in early to mid-June.

During construction, motorists can expect single-lane closures under flag control. The project is estimated to be completed late June of 2018.
