Rebounds for Rotary at Marquette High School
MARQUETTE — A fundraiser happened today in Marquette, and it was all about two things… basketball and supporting the youth from all over.
Marquette Breakfast Rotary and the MSHS Athletics hosted a joint fundraiser Thursday night at Marquette Senior High School. This event was a local celebrity charity basket ball game against the MSHS senior boys and girls team. Not only was this evening a good way for the community to support each other but it was an event that brought everyone together.
“So this event is a really great opportunity to let students know what rotary does and what it is in the community and what it offers,” said Jennifer Huetter. “But it’s also been a really great opportunity for us to bring a lot of different business together all for the same cause. We have a lot of sponsors that have stepped up to help us with our expenses and to help support it. All the businesses have also volunteered players to come out and play with the students, so it’s just been a really great community event that reaches a lot of folks.”
Throughout the evening they raised money through ticket sales, 50/50 raffle sales and concessions, as well as donation buckets. All of the proceeds went to supporting the youth nationally and internationally through the Marquette Breakfast Rotary and MSHS.
