U.P. Regional Blood Center in immediate need of donations
MARQUETTE — The U.P. Regional Blood Center has an immediate need for O-positive, A-negative and B-negative blood types.
In order to donate, volunteers just need be healthy, hydrated, eat within a couple of hours, weigh at least 110 lbs. and bring a picture ID. Donors must be seventeen years of age or older, or sixteen with parental consent. Factors that could make volunteers ineligible to donate include being ill, being underweight or taking certain medications, among other factors.
To donate, stop into the blood center on West College Avenue from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Friday. If there are any questions, contact the blood center directly at (906) 225-4610.
