UPPER PENINSULA — The road commissions of Dickinson, Houghton, Keweenaw, Ontonagon and Baraga counties will put seasonal road restrictions in place beginning this week.

Restrictions for Houghton, Keweenaw, Ontonagon and Baraga counties will go into effect on Tuesday, February 27th at 8:00 a.m. Maximum legal axle loads will be reduced to 65 percent of normal loads, as prescribed by the Michigan Vehicle Code 257.722(e).

No individual load limit signs will be posted on county roads. The restrictions are subject to change based on weather and road conditions.

The Dickinson County Road Commission will impose and enforce all seasonal load and speed restrictions on all county roads beginning on Wednesday, February 28th at 10:00 a.m. A list of “All Seasons” roads in Dickinson County can be found HERE.
