Three arrested in connection with stolen firearms case in Gogebic County
ERWIN TOWNSHIP — Three individuals have been arrested on charges of home invasion and larceny of firearms in Gogebic County.
On Thursday, January 18th, the Gogebic County Sheriff’s Department responded to a report of a breaking and entering incident in Erwin Township. The victim of the incident had numerous guns, ammunition and other miscellaneous items stolen from his residence.
Deputies and members of the Gogebic Iron Area Narcotics Team later received additional information about the incident, which they followed up with. In regards to the investigation, Gogebic County Prosecutor Nicholas Jacobs issued search warrants for two different places in Ironwood. The Gogebic/Iron Area SWAT Team assisted with executing the warrants.
The first search warrant was executed at an Ironwood Home where officers were able to recover several of the stolen guns. Search warrant officers arrested the homeowner for possession of stolen firearms. The officers also seized items related to controlled substance violations.
The second search warrant was executed on a motel room in Ironwood where officers again recovered another stolen firearm and items related to controlled substance violations. At this location, officers arrested two more individuals on charges related to the breaking and entering and possession of stolen firearms.
The three individuals are 31 year-old Donald Wayne Lollar, 19 year-old Aubrey Dean Cummins and 33 year-old Michael David Zupan. They have been charged in 98th District Court with the following:
- Lollar is charged with:
- Home Invasion First Degree, which carries a penalty of up to 20 years in prison and/or $5,000 fine.
- Receiving and Concealing Firearms, a penalty of up to 10 years in prison and/or $5,000 fine.
- Larceny of Firearms, a penalty of up to 5 years in prison and/or a $2,500 fine.
- Felon in Possession of Firearms, a penalty of up to 5 years in prison and/or $5,000 fine.
He is currently lodged on a $60,000 bond.
- Cummins is charged with:
- Home Invasion First Degree, which carries a penalty of up to 20 years in prison and/or $5,000 fine.
- Receiving and Concealing Firearms, a penalty of up to 10 years in prison and/or $5,000 fine.
- Larceny of Firearms, a penalty of up to 5 years in prison and/or a $2,500 fine.
He is currently lodged on a $50,000 bond.
- Zupan is charged with:
- 2 counts of Receiving and Concealing Firearms, a penalty of up to 10 years in prison and/or $5,000 fine.
- Felony Firearms, 2 year consecutive penalty
- Tampering with Evidence, a penalty of up to 4 years in prison and/or $5,000 fine
He is currently lodged on a $4,000 bond.
