Man convicted of sexual misconduct following 2-day trial

MARQUETTE — A 24 year–old man was convicted of sexual misconduct following a two–day jury trial.

Brandon Thomas Field was convicted of third degree criminal sexual conduct on Thursday, a charge punishable by up to 15 years in prison.

The sexual assault occurred during Halloween weekend of 2015. The victim was a friend of Field and his wife. She waited to report the incident because she did not want to upset the marriage of her friends.

The victim reported the assault to law enforcement in August of 2016 after learning that he may have sexually assaulted a second woman.

According to a press release sent out by Marquette County Prosecutor Matt Wiese, Field will be sentenced on January 19th, 2018 in Marquette County Circuit Court.
