Body of missing woman found, died of natural causes

SAULT STE. MARIE — Sault Ste. Marie police officers were dispatched to the west parking lot of War Memorial Hospital on October 16th at 4:36 p.m. According to the report, two citizens located a body.

An officer located the victim in an overgrown area behind a few trailers. It appears that the victim had been at that location for some time.

After the investigation, the detectives identified the victim as 47 year-old Erin Marie Stocker. Stocker had been reported missing by her mother on October 2nd, 2017.

The medical examiner’s office and a responding doctor determined that Stocker died of natural causes, closing the investigation. The victim’s family has been notified.
