Police searching for vehicle involved in hit-and-run

CHOCOLAY TOWNSHIP — Local police are asking for the public’s help in locating a truck involved in a hit-and-run.

The incident occurred on Tuesday at 8:30 P.M. The truck was heading west bound on the 240 block of Lakewood Lane and left the roadway, the vehicle then struck a mailbox on the north side of the Lane and struck a pipe line marker on the south side of the road after crossing the roadway.

The truck is believed to be a red Toyota pickup, possibly with an extended cab. The truck should have damage to its step bars on the side of the vehicle with possible front end damage. After the accident, the truck left Lakewood Lane and headed towards U.S. 41.
