Suspects arrested after investigation into illegal drug trafficking

DICKINSON COUNTY — Two individuals were arrested Tuesday evening following a several week long investigation into illegal drug trafficking.

The K.I.N.D Drug Enforcement Team was able to make multiple controlled buys of marijuana. Officers were able to trace the marijuana to a residence in Felch Township.

During execution of a search warrant, 37 pounds of processed marijuana and a large amount of currency was located and seized from the residence. After a search of the suspect’s car, approximately a quarter pound of marijuana was located inside of a large safe in the trunk.

The name of the homeowner is being withheld pending further investigation. One suspect arrested was Clifford Lautzenheiser, 49, of Niagra, Wisconsin. Lautzenheiser is charged with three counts of delivery/manufacture of marijuana, one count of possession with intent to deliver marijuana, three counts of maintaining a drug house and habitual offender fourth offense notice.

The other suspect arrested is Lee Edward Blomquist, 46, of Felch who is charged with one count of delivery/manufacture of marijuana, one count of maintaining a drug house, and habitual offender fourth offense notice.

Blomquist and Lautzenheiser are set for probable cause conferences on April 18th. Bond has been set at $75,000 for each defendant. The K.I.N.D Team was assisted on the scene by C.I.R.T. and Beacon Ambulance.

The case is still under review by the Dickinson County Prosecutor’s Office and additional charges are being considered.
