UPDATE: Name released in fatal motorcycle accident
UPDATE — Friday, March 24th, 2017 9:15 a.m.
The Marquette County Sheriff’s Office has released the name of the motorcyclist who died in an accident Thursday in Marquette Township.
The rider has been identified as Kody Wayne Lenon, 27, of Marquette. Lenon was southbound on County Road 550 near Little Presque Isle sometime Thursday morning, when he lost control of his motorcycle.
His friends became worried when he did not return from his ride and called looking for him. Authorities have confirmed with ABC 10 that Lenon was wearing a helmet when the accident occurred.

UPDATE — Thursday, March 23rd, 2017 4:00 p.m.
According to the Marquette County Sheriff’s Office, the accident occurred earlier in the day along the eastside of County Road 550 near Harlow Lake Road in Marquette Township. Police were called to the scene just after 2:00 p.m.
A passerby found the deceased subject and their bike in the nearby woods. It appears that the driver was headed southbound when they lost control of the machine and went off the road.
The motorcyclist has not yet been identified. And the accident remains under investigation.
MARQUETTE TOWNSHIP — One person is dead after a motorcycle accident Thursday afternoon in Marquette Township.
The accident happened around 2:15 p.m. on County Road 550 near Harlow Lake Road. The Marquette County Sheriff’s Office, Marquette City Police Department and UP Health System EMS were all present at the scene.
