UPDATE: One person injured in snowmobile accident
UPDATE — Thursday, February 2, 2017 9:30 p.m.
Deputies from the Marquette County Sheriff’s Department say they responded to a snowmobile personal injury accident around 2:00 P.M. on trail #14, 14 miles West of Big Bay. The driver, David Noffke, 69, of Wisconsin, was heading west on the trail when he failed to negotiate a curve and drove off the trail.
Noffke was transported to UP Health System – Marquette for a lower extremity injury.
Speed is believed to be a factor in the accident.
MARQUETTE COUNTY — A snowmobile driver was involved in a personal injury accident.
Emergency crews responded to the report of a snowmobile personal injury accident around 2:00 P.M. on Trail #14 off of County Road 510 in Marquette County on Thursday. The accident happened around five miles from the entrance of the trail.
The full extent of the injuries to the snowmobile driver, 70, is unknown at this time. Powell Township EMS, Powell Township Fire, Marquette County Sheriff’s Department, and UP Health System EMS is currently on the scene.
