Pickup truck hits two vehicles & house

ELY TOWNSHIP — No injuries were reported after a pickup truck hit two vehicles and a house Tuesday night in Ely Township.

At approximately 7:15 p.m., the Marquette County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to County Road 581 near Tony’s Lane on the report of a possible personal injury crash. David Schneider, 29, of Ishpeming, was driving a 2008 Chevy Silverado when it left the roadway, entered onto private property and struck a parked pickup truck.

Thar pickup was then pushed into a mobile home and then a parked corvette belonging to a Terry Mattila. Both pickup trucks were totaled, the corvette and home suffered moderate damage. The driver of the pickup was not injured. Evidence suggests that a medical issue caused the driver to blackout and leave the roadway.

Marquette County Sheriff’s Department assisted on the scene along with the Ishpeming City Police Department, Bell EMS, and Ishpeming Township Fire Department.
